Bol d'Or Mirabaud

A forest of sails.

From Friday, June 15 2012 to Sunday, June 17 2012

Geneva | Switzerland

With more than 500 boats participating, the Bol d'Or Mirabaud is the largest regatta in Europe. It dates back to 1939 when it was called the "Tour of the Faces Pâles Lake". The regatta has seen the greatest sailors take part, including Eric Tabarly.

The 2 500-odd teams present will be doing their best to prove themselves during this competition. There are two starting points: one for monohulls, the other for multihulls. The 123 kilometre or 66,5 nautical mile course links Port Tunnel, Bouveret and Port Noir.

Alongside the race, entertainment for children and adults is organised in town, including the traditional "pasta party".
